Smoke and mirrors in finance and investment

This blog is created to provide quality economic, financial and investment analysis. Whilst sometimes focusing on macroeconomics or microeconomics, the clear tendency is to stick to down-to-earth common sense.

In the investment world, as you may know, common sense is not so common.

The writer is an experienced trader, mainly a position trader with a long term horizon. There will also be some daytrading analyses and opportunity spotting, but the main reports will be about the possibility of a long term upward or downward trend. The main instruments will be stock market indexes, such as the Dow Jones (DJIA), the S&P 500, the DAX, the FTSE and the CAC, the precious metals, especially gold and silver and some currency pairs (obviously the most interesting ones: EUR/USD, USD/JPY, EUR/GBP and Eur/CHF).

The reason I chose this title is because in the financial environment the deceit and traechery and perfidy are ubiquitous, as, at the end of the day, it all is a zero-sum game.
